They intend to create original shows with CLAMP (xxxHoLic, Blood-C), Yasuo Ohtagaki (Mobile Suit Gundam Thunderbolt, Moonlight Mile), Otsuichi (Calling you, Black Fairy tale, Mad World), Tow Ubukata (The Ghost in the shell: Five new Short Stories) and Mari Yamazaki (Thermae Romae). Kibayashi is also working for this partnership and Lady Napoleon will be their first collaboration project on screen.

Shin Kibayashi is a reigning name in the mangaka community and is known for turning everything into pure gold. Under multiple pen names Kibayashi has created exemplary works including Drops of God, GetBackers, and Bloody Monday, and Kindaichi Case files, Sherlock Bones, Psychometrer, and Psychometrer Eiji.

Zero-G (Battery the Animation, Grand Blue, Dive, Science fell in love, So I tried to prove it) studio is handling the production with Noriaki Akitaya (Bakuman, Code Geass, Battle Girl High school, Persona 3) steering the project as director.

The announcement was made on Netflix Japan’s official Twitter with no further details just yet.
