For all the heists lovers, Millarworld comics’ hugely popular Super Crooks: The Heist is being adapted into an animated series. According to Netflix, “In this anime adaptation, small-time crook Johnny Bolt recruits the ultimate crew for one last heist – for real! From the comic book legend Mark Millar.” The anime adaptation is followed by a live-action one as Jupiter’s Legacy series has been canceled.
Who are Mark Millar and Leinnil Francis Yu?
In 2012 two renowned comic industry giants, Scottish comic book writer Mark Millar and Filipino comic book artist Leinnil Francis Yu came together for a Millarworld comic project.
Millar is known for Marvel’s Wolverine, Wolverine: Old Man Logan, DC’s Superman, Marvel’s Civil War, The Magic Order, and Jupiter’s Circle while Yu has worked with Marvel for Indestructible Hulk, Vol.1, X-Men, Captain America 1, and Phoenix Resurrection. Their collaboration bore four-part comic book series, Super Crooks: The Heist and Superior.

When will Netflix drop Super Crooks?
A release date has been announced in Netflix’s TUDUM event for the anime series. It says Super Crooks will be made available to stream on Netflix from November 25, 2021.
The 23 years old prominent studio Bones has taken the reins of production for the Netflix series, Super Crooks. A Japanese Tokyo-based animation studio, bones inc. is celebrated among its peers for its spectacularly diverse catalog. They are the talent behind the latest My hero academia: World Heroes’ mission, romantic comedy Josee, the Tiger and the Fish, Space Dandy Cowboy Bebop: The movie, and Fullmetal alchemist the movie.
Netflix and Studio Bones have been associates for quite some time and they are also currently working on the Godzilla franchise.
Super Crooks comics have had faced issues regarding development until Netflix acquired Millarworld library. Back in 2019, Netflix announced Supercrooks will be the first title to be adapted from the acquired list, then after followed various Millarworld titles which are currently under development.
Duration of Millarworld’s Super Crooks
Millworld’s anime series will be thirteen episodes long with each episode being thirty minutes long. However, no further information has been revealed regarding other seasons.
