In the wake of smashing the first season of Gege Akutami’s Jujutsu Kaisen, the creators have dropped the teaser trailer for their upcoming film project, which is set to release this winter titled: ‘Jujutsu Kaisen 0’. Jujutsu Kaisen 0 will adapt Gege Akutami’s very first designs and plot which he crafted before the original JJK manga was finalized. The fan community is exhilarated to see where it goes over the small details featured in the short teaser. However, Yuji Itadori’s role in this project is out of their sight.
The teaser trailer features second-year student Yuta and his childhood friend Rika. In order to “break Rika’s curse” Yuta has to enroll himself at Jujutsu tech and this film will most probably encircle him fighting his conflicts and the curses haunting him. This article expands our view on the theory of Yuji Itadori not being a part of this Jujutsu Kaisen 0.
It appears as if the creators are hinting at the absence of Yuji Itadori as the teaser opens in “This is the story of the origin of Jujutsu Kaisen”. This feature film will address a separate plot within the main series as it rewinds the events of the past to traverse Yuta Okkotsu’s history, Gojo holding him in high regard and his enrolment in Jujutsu Tech.
The main series has made an allusion to Yuta and flare of his feats with Maki Zenin, Toge Inumaki, and Panda. However, the film will look back into the past and fill in the unknowns. It will also be re-establishing the second-year student trio, we’ve already met. As it has been announced that this project will be a prequel, does this mean we’ll see no characters from season 1?
It has already been known that Megumi Ogata (Akudama drive, Sailor Moon, Evangelion) is voicing Yuta but so far the cast from the movie doesn’t involve anyone from the main trio from the first season Yuji Itadori, Megumi Fushigoro, and Nobara Kugisaki. Thus, we shouldn’t anticipate any crucial part for the core trio unless the second season drops.
All the corroborations induce one conclusion that Yuji Itadori is not involved in this project however, if he is there it would be some minor cameo or a role not in any major capacity.
