The Pokémon Company has just announced that it’s working to quickly reprint more Pokemon trading cards. As the Pokemon Company which is also celebrating its 25th anniversary, this year is struggling to keep up with the high demand for Pokémon cards in the last few weeks.
The Pokémon Company said in a statement that they’re “aware that some of you are experiencing difficulties purchasing certain Pokémon Trading Card Game products due to very high demand and global shipping constraints impacting availability,” and that they “understand this inconvenience can be disappointing for fans and are working to address it where it is within our control.”
The Company also said that it is “actively working to print more of the impacted Pokémon TCG products as quickly as possible and at maximum capacity,” and that they “will continue to reprint the products to replenish stock at retailers as soon as possible.”
The explosion in hype for Pokémon trading cards comes when these high demand products started selling out quickly at retailers and older cards started selling for record-breaking prices at auction with a Blastoise card sold for $375,000 just last month by third-party sellers. Card opening videos of the same have also blown up on YouTube and Twitch over the last year, helping to increase the hype for new and rare cards.
However, the latest set of trading card game’s, “Shining Fates” is officially set to be launched on February 19.
