During the recent Mappa stage event of 2021 which celebrates the 10th anniversary of Mappa studio, a teaser promotional video of Chainsaw Man was released, and with heating things up trailer has already crossed three million views in the first 24 hours since its debut. You can watch the trailer embed below.
Fans are hyped with the release of the teaser. The teaser boasted amazing animation with an equally amazing soundtrack and was violent, but it was expected if you have the word “Chainsaw” in the title. Mappa also revealed the staff for the upcoming anime. Chainsaw Man TV Anime will be directed by Ryū Nakayama who has also served as Episode director for Black Clover and Jujutsu Kaisen.
If we take a look at the staff, a lot of industry veterans are coming together for the project. The music is composed by Kensuke Ushio (DEVILMAN crybaby, Liz and the Blue Bird, A Silent Voice) and the script is written by Hiroshi Seko (Attack on Titan The Final Season, Dorohedoro).
Chainsaw Man manga started its publication in December 2018 in Weekly Shonen Jump. The story is about Denji, who is a demon hunter. Denji along with his dog Pochita hunts demons and protects everyone. When Denji pulls a cord on his chest, he transforms into a hybrid being with Chainsaw on his head and hands.
The manga is a fan favorite and the anime was long being anticipated. Even in the recent Oricon’s half-year manga sales report, Chainsaw Man scored 5th position cutting in close with Attack On Titan in manga sales. With Mappa in the production, anime is bound to make waves.
But unfortunately, there is no news about the release date of the anime but there is a high chance that anime will come out by the end of 2021. Mappa has just started the hype train and only time will tell where it will go. Tell us what do you think about the new announcement?
