Universal Pictures is planning to wrap The Fast and Furious saga after its 11th installment, according to reports by Deadline and Variety. Justin Lin, who directed the five films of the past eight Fast and Furious films (upcoming F9 included), will reportedly return to direct the last two films as well and to bring a saga that began nearly 2 decades ago to an end.

F9 which is Lin’s fifth film as a director in the franchise and was originally supposed to debut in 2020, but then pushed to 2021’s Memorial Day in the wake of the ongoing pandemic. Is going to continue the storyline of the core cast and Charlize Theron, fan-favorite Sung Hang, John Cena (who is the newest villain and Dominic’s younger brother), Helen Mirren, and music stars like Cardi B and Reggaeton star Ozuna.
Is Hobbs & Shaw going to come back for the Fast & Furious finale?
Now the question is whether Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham castmembers who peeled off for the Fast and Furious spinoff “Hobbs & Shaw”(which grossed over $759 million worldwide) are going to come back for the finale or not.

As it is likely that Vin Diesel will be producing the final two installments in the franchise by his One Race Films banner, along with Jeff Kirschenbaum, Lin, Neal Moritz, Joe Roth, Clayton Townsend, and Samantha Vincent. Which are the producers of F9 too. Johnson and Diesel might never be fast friends, but this is an opportunity to do something great together. Well there’s no words if both Hoobs and Shaw making a comeback, in the end, two films.
F11 is not the end of movies like F&F
Whether or not the series about tunning your car to the max is actually going to end at 11 will likely depend on how many theaters continue to exist and how much will F9 does when it releases. Also Fast and Furious is a global phenomenon, not just a US-centric one, and from this point of view, spin-off movies (reportedly two) based on “Fast and Furious” characters are currently in development at Universal.
For now, the latest film titled as F9 is going to release in 2021, in which we will see the core cast of F&F in action (with an ending scene in space) along with John Cena making his debut in the franchise as the new villain and Dom’s younger brother.
