In what feels like Fast and Furious the blockbuster franchise has clearly got bored of tarmac, so they are trying their hand at zero-gravity instead in the upcoming movie Fast and Furious 9 (officially titled as F9).
Evolution of the Fast and Furious franchise
The fast family has slowly but surely evolved over 8 movies into a team of gravity-defying super-soldiers who save the planet on regular basis, and fairly successful spin-off Hobbes & Shaw finally brought the series into all-out fantasy (Scifi) territory with the introduction of cybernetics and AI bikes. And now after 20 years and 9 movies (10 actually if you count the spinoff) franchise is preparing to send their characters into space.
Where it all (space scene rumors) started
Back in July at, Sirius XM’s The Jess Cagle Show host Julia Cunningham asked Ludacris, about how the films’ writers could wow audiences and step it up from previous films, suggesting the idea of space among other scenarios. To which actor sais: “You just said something very important. I will say that you are very intuitive, cause you said something right, but I’m not going to give it away.”
And now during an interview on same show, Michelle Rodriguez was asked to corroborate claims made by Ludacris, and was caught off guard. And said: “Oh, no way. How did you guys find that out? See what happens? People start talking behind the scenes, man.” “When a movie doesn’t come out… things get out. Nobody was supposed to know that!”
Asked if she’ll join Ludacris in the space scenes, she said, “Oh, well, no, I’m not, I’m not lucky enough to hit space, but we did get a female writer and showed a lot of love. Thanks to Justin Lin. We were able, to find a little bit more attention and love for the girls in the movie. And so I’m really hopeful that shows through in the final product.”
Some other big news about F9
Fast & Furious 9 (F9) which is delayed to April 2, 2021, is also rumored to feature the late Paul Walker via digital trickery. The film sees the return of beloved director Justin Lin, and formerly dead Han, and also the family guy Dominic Toretto has a little brother which to be played by John Cena this entire time. Hopefully, not an excessive amount of spills before Fast and Furious 9 (F9) finds its way into theaters.
