The year 2020 is finally coming to an end for what has felt like an eternity. There may never have been so much hype for a new year as there is for 2021, as, everybody is eager to escape the chaos of 2020. It also carries along quite a bit of new streaming content, in addition to all the hope that 2021 is expected to offer. The Office will start streaming on Peacock exclusively, and all the other big streaming platforms are set to add to their lineups plenty of new TV shows and movies.
Disney Plus is poised to debut the next main original project after the mind-blowing second season of Star Wars: The Mandalorian. The first live-action TV series produced by Marvel Studios, Marvel’s WandaVision, is premiering on Disney Plus on January 15th, kicking off a bunch of new MCU content in the coming months.
Last month, Warner Bros. surprised the whole industry when it revealed that its entire film slate for 2021 will debut on HBO Max on the same day the films are released in theatres. While the filmmakers and studios impacted by this move are going to iron out the kinks for quite a while, in January, the first movie on the slate, The Little Things, arrives on HBO Max.
Cobra Kai has become one of the biggest TV hits of the year (thanks to its switch from YouTube to Netflix), and that success will only grow with Season 3’s debut on January 1st, as new episodes arrive on Netflix.
